Firstly… do you qualify to join the Network?

Contemporary:

If you teach modern styles of music on guitar, bass guitar or drums and you have any one of the following, then you qualify:

  1. A Bachelor of Music
  2. 1 year or more as a professional musician and 1 year or more of teaching experience
  3. Currently in 2nd year or higher of a Bachelor of Music and some teaching experience

Traditional and others:

If you teach any other instrument or you teach singing and you have any one of the following, then you qualify:

  1. A Bachelor of Music
  2. Grade 8 or higher in one of the major syllabuses for your instrument (or for voice) and 1 year or more of teaching experience
  3. Currently in 2nd year or higher of a Bachelor of Music and some teaching experience
  4. High level attainment or accreditation as a teacher in a particular methodology such as Suzuki Method or Speech Level Singing and some teaching experience

Otherwise, if you have other academic combinations such as a Bachelor of Education along with a high level grade in one of the major syllabuses, or very extensive experience (many years) as a professional musician, we will consider your registration.

You must also satisfy all of the following:

  1. Fluency in English
  2. Australian Residency (please do not apply if you are on a Working Holiday Visa or Student Visa)
  3. ABN (can be applied for immediately after joining)
  4. Working with children check or equivalent (can be applied for immediately after joining)
  5. Access to email
  6. A voice-mail service on your mobile phone – not voice to text (can be set up immediately after joining)
  7. At least 18 years old

Please note: we check every registration personally and reject any that do not meet the above criteria.
